I have a bone to pick with Weight Watchers and their ad campaign featuring their newest spokesperson, Oprah Winfrey.
The dialog shared in Oprah’s Weight Watchers ad opened my eyes to the dangerous dysfunction we women carry about our weight.
I’m going to use the word “diet” in the sense of a program, protocol, or fad. In fact, the very definition of dieting is: “to restrict oneself to small amounts or special kind of foods in order to lose weight” (Oxford Dictionary)
Diet programs are so enticing, and even more so when you have a superstar as the face of your company, but as much as we want to shed excess weight, we are learning so much more about how diets just simply do not work.
